Katie & Joey | Washington D.C. Engagement | Maryland Wedding Photographer

Katie and Joey take the cake for most unique engagement session that I have done.  Tim and I met them at their apartment right in the heart of Washington D.C. They decided that the perfect place to do their engagement session was the national park by their apartment. During the session I learned that Joey actually spends a lot of his time on the trails of this park because that is the way he walks to class! 

Katie and Joey share a love of theatre, Harry Potter, and Shakespeare. You can see this in Katie's amazing custom engagement ring; it is to die for! They both enjoy acting and going to plays on Broadway together.

During their session we explored the woods and even saw some wildlife! And by wildlife I mean a yappy, tiny dog chasing a full grown deer through the woods! After a few "traditional" engagement photos Katie and Joey got their wands changed into their matching Harry Potter sweaters. We all had so much fun coming up with fun poses and unique lighting that we lost track of time. Before we knew it we were in the middle of the woods in almost complete darkness. After hiking back to their apartment Katie and Joey invited us in for homemade fettuccine alfredo, and let me tell you, it was the best I had ever had! Joey is an amazing chef! I'll admit that his wonderful dinner inspired Tim and I to try and make it from scratch as well...and that didn't end so well. I think we will stick to photography!

We are so excited for Katie and Joey's wedding next October! We know it will be a blast!
