Valerie & Ken | Annapolis Naval Academy Wedding | Maryland Wedding Photographer

When Valerie and I first spoke, I knew I had to photograph her and Ken's wedding. Since we were unable to meet in person due to distance, we opted for a Skype call. Valerie was the first person I chatted with via Skype probably since middle school, so it had been a while. I was super nervous to chat via a webcam. I thought to myself, "Wow Sarah, none of the rooms in your house are professional, and the bright orange paint in your bedroom is certainly not flattering with your skin tone." But once Valerie and I got to talking all of my worries melted away; it was like we had been friends for years. She told me about her wedding day and how she wanted to focus on family, which always makes my heart smile! I also got to meet her sweet little cat, which is always a plus for me!

When Valerie and Ken's wedding day came around I was a tad nervous because it was my first wedding of the season after a long winter of photographer hibernation. The weather at the Naval Academy in Annapolis was perfect, so that eased me into the day. The moment I saw Valerie (and actually got to meet her for the first time!) I was ready for the day. She was beautiful and excited to marry the love of her life. The day flew by. The ceremony was flawless, the portraits were beautiful, and the food was wonderful. Tim and I had a lot of fun watching Ken and Valerie get down on the dance floor. If Ken wasn't eating, he was on the dance floor. I have never seen a groom with so much energy!

I am so honored thatI got to share this special day with Valerie and Ken. They are one of the nicest couples I have ever worked with and I really hope to keep in touch for years to come! Congratulations you two!
